Cumbrian ISP LonsdaleNET, which in April 2012 acquired the network assets of defunct network operator NextGenUs Cumbria from the firms administrator (here), has now begun offering symmetric superfast wireless broadband speeds of 10-60Mbps across the rural Eden Valley and surrounding areas.

The Broadband Stakeholders Group (BSG), a government think-tank, has published a new study that examines the predicted demand for superfast broadband ISP products. The good news is that it “gives cause for optimism and confidence“, with the UK comparing well on the international stage, but big challenges remain.

The incumbent phone and broadband provider for Hull and East Yorkshire in England (UK), KC (Karoo), has joined in a local partnership with Humberside Police, Hull City Council, BT and local scrap metal merchants. The group has specifically called on members of the public to help them stop metal thieves.

Urban focused ISP Hyperoptic has announced that its ultra-fast 1Gbps (Gigabits per second) capable fibre optic broadband (FTTB) service is now available to more than 10,000 homes in 12 London boroughs (30 property developments) and it plans to go a lot further over the next five years.
