Budget ISP TalkTalk has announced that its “totally unlimited” Simply Broadband and phone bundle has been reduced from £3.50 to just £1.75 per month for the first six months of service, although customers will still need to pay line rental on top from £11.75 when pre-paid a year in advance or £15.95 monthly.
The “up to” 16Mbps capable Simply Broadband bundle (12 month contract) is cheap because TalkTalk doesn’t include any free calls (except between TalkTalk customers), although you can add AnyTime UK Landline Calls for an extra £5 per month. Otherwise calls are charged at a standard pay-as-you-go rate.
Customers do however get a free wireless router, free connection or £50 welcome credit for new line installs, HomeSafe Internet Security / Parental Controls and you can add a 38Mbps capable superfast broadband (FTTC) service for an extra +£10 per month, which if taken and combined with the above discount would bring the total broadband price to just £11.75 for the first six months (£13.50 thereafter).
At the time of writing TalkTalk is still updating their website to reflect the new offer, which incidentally should be available until 23rd July 2014.
