Shoppers visiting the Camden Market (Stables Market) in London look set to benefit after it was announced that Purple WiFi and Cisco Meraki were helping to make a free WiFi hotspot service available across all public areas.
The new service, which among other things will also enable local shops to map the movement and footfall of visitors across the area, is due to be officially launched at an event to be held on Thursday 4th September 2014 (6pm – 9pm). However locals should already be able to access the new service.
Gavin Wheeldon, CEO of Purple WiFi, said:
“Stables Market Camden is a great example of how free WiFi helps consumers, but also benefits the venue by delivering real-time information on how the market is being used, with the opportunity to deliver relevant offers and discounts via targeted WiFi marketing.
Having access to free WiFi is now essential and working with Cisco Meraki, Stables Market’s WiFi network was set up and operational in record time.”
Apparently the event mentioned above, which is to be held at the Pan-Asian Gilgamesh Bar, will involve physically turning some of Camden purple. But don’t worry if you’re not a fan of that colour because it’s only going to last for one night.
