Vodafone UK Expands 4G Mobile Broadband Roaming to 23 Countries

Tuesday, Oct 14th, 2014 (1:24 pm) - Score 714

Mobile operator Vodafone has announced that customers of their ‘Red’ 4G (LTE) based mobile voice and Internet services in the United Kingdom will now also be able to make use of the same connectivity in 23 destinations worldwide.

Customers on the Red plans benefit from UK unlimited calls, texts and a data allowance of between 3GB and 20GB (GigaBytes) per month, which would carry over to the non-UK destination if they also adopt EuroTraveller or WorldTraveller.

In other words, Pay Monthly Vodafone 4G customers travelling to any 4G destination in the operators “Europe Zone” can take their UK minutes, texts and data with them for just £3 a day (EuroTraveller). Meanwhile those travelling to a 4G destination within the operators WorldTraveller Zone can do the same for just £5 a day.

Cindy Rose, Vodafone UK’s Head of Consumer, said:

Our customers now have 4G in more countries than ever before as a result of Vodafone’s significant global presence. We are really excited to be able to offer our thousands of customers travelling around the world, whether on business or for fun, an even better 4G experience.”

Destinations with 4G roaming include: Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan and USA. A day is defined as 00:00 to 23:59 local time of the capital city.

As you’d expect 4G speeds and coverage may vary when roaming on to one of Vodafone’s 4G network partners in the listed countries. In addition, customers are automatically opted in to monthly Internet spending limits of £41.29 and Vodafone will send free text messages to let them know how much of their monthly allowances have been used.
