Customers of EE have vented frustration at the mobile network and home broadband provider after some claimed to have been left without access to their Wanadoo, Orange webmail and fsmail email accounts for almost two days.
The issue appeared to reach its peak yesterday afternoon, although it took several long hours and a little bit of media pressure before the operator finally responded to confirm the fault. Apparently a “third-party fibre optic cable” that leads into one of EE’s major data-centres was cut and this prevented users from being able to access their email.
Several engineering teams were then dispatched to replace the cable and this morning the problem initially appeared to have been resolved.
EE Service Status (10th March 2016)
We have now resolved the issues preventing some Orange Webmail users from accessing their accounts through an Internet browser.
We apologise to anyone affected for the inconvenience that this has caused.
If anyone is still experiencing issues this will be unrelated, please use The Webmail help Pages or Contact Customer services.
Thanks for your patience.
However at the time of writing we are still seeing some complaints come in, many of which are also evident on EE’s related Community Page. Most of the gripes could probably have been averted had EE introduced an informative and up-to-date Service Status page for customers to view.
