Norfolk ISP WiSpire has moved to complement their church tower based fixed wireless broadband capabilities by introducing a new Satellite Internet product, which is supported by the Government’s USC voucher scheme (intended for premises that can only get sub-2Mbps speeds).
Apparently WiSpire’s voucher subsidised packages include free equipment, an activation + set up fee of £75 and they can also supply a router at an additional cost of £65. All prices are inclusive of VAT and subject to a 12 month contract. Customers can apply for a voucher code from the BBfN website or via WiSpire directly.
Steve Maine, Chief Executive of WiSpire, said:
“Broadband is essential for modern living and now people who live in rural parts of the county will be better able to run their businesses, learn, stay in touch with family and friends and do much more online. As an added extra, WiSpire is also able to offer customers who sign up to the satellite service a unique Technology Guarantee, which means the customer can transfer across to a church based wireless service as soon as a WiSpire transmitter is in reach of their home or business.”
The ISP’s Satellite packages start at £19.99 per month for a 20Mbps service with just a tiny 5GB usage allowance and they normally also charge £299.99 for equipment, although obviously that last one should be covered by the subsidy (assuming you’re eligible). Meanwhile the top package offers the same speed and a 20GB usage allowance, but you’ll pay £35.99 per month.
