BTOpenreach has announced another round of Ethernet price reductions for their business customers and ISPs, which are due to come into effect on 1st October 2016 and will impact a number of their 100Mbps and 1Gbps speed connections.
As usual the changes are largely a reflection of Ofcom’s Business Connectivity regulation and will primarily impact Openreach’s Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) and Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD) products, as well as a few other services.
For example, the connection price of a 1Gbps EAD service will fall by between -25% and -37%. Similarly the cost of renting a 1Gbps EBD service will fall by at least -34% and the connection charge for all variants of EAD 100Mbps will reduce by £15 (-1%). Check out the full list of price reductions.
