Customers of Plusnet may struggle to get account specific advice from the ISP’s support teams today as the provider appears to be suffering from “issues with our internal systems“, which are also causing problems with their main website and some related systems.
The problems began during the early hours of this morning and are still on-going, with the their main website initially failing to load, before returning briefly and since then it’s simply been replaced with a standard “site down for maintenance” notice. Otherwise the latest update was posted a couple of hours ago.
Service Status (4th Jan 2017)
We are currently experiencing issues with our internal systems that may also be causing issues with our website. Please note that while this issue is happening our support teams will only be able to offer non account specific advice.
Our engineers are currently working to resolve this issue and we hope to have service restored as soon as possible.
Some sections of Plusnet website, such as their Community Forum, continue to function. However the fact that Plusnet support agents are “unable to access account information right now” (Plusnet’s Twitter comment) does rather limit their ability to provide assistance to end-users. A few customers have also reported that they cannot login to their personal account pages.
As a side note, the ISP has just added a £50 cashback bonus to their existing unlimited broadband (up to 17Mbps) at £20 per month promotion, but of course you won’t be able to see that until they fix the website.
UPDATE 1:42pm
The website appears to be loading again, albeit a little slowly. A spokesperson for Plusnet told us, “We were carrying out some maintenance updates on our website, which has now been completed. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank everyone for their patience.”
