New customers looking to take TalkTalk’s entry-level ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited “Fast Broadband” and phone bundle may wish to know that the price has dropped to £20 per month for the first 12 month contract term (£25.50 thereafter). A TV (YouView) box can also be added for an extra £25 (one-off).
As usual all of TalkTalk’s broadband bundles include unlimited usage, line rental, free setup, a “free” Mobile SIM (500MB data, 200 mins, unlimited texts), line rental and an included wireless router among various other features (e.g. Parental Controls and anti-virus protection for one device). Customers also get an option of 12, 18 or 24 month contract terms at different prices.
The ISP claims to “guarantee [that] your broadband price stays the same for the length of your contract,” although this doesn’t apply to their Boosts or other charges, such as movies or calls. Meanwhile the £25 TalkTalk TV Box features pause and rewind (for up to 30 minutes), access to around 80 Freeview channels and 7 day catch up (available for certain channels only), and access to the ISP’s premium TV Boosts and on demand content.
Subscribers can also add a TV Starter Boost (at £5 per month) that includes access to several premium Sky TV Channels (Sky 1, Sky 2, Sky Arts, Sky Living, Real Lives and Sky Sports News) and there are a lot of other TV boosts available. You need a minimum broadband line speed of 2Mbps to receive on-demand Boosts and 5Mbps to receive Boosts with linear TV channels.
Meanwhile prices for TalkTalk’s ‘up to’ 38Mbps (FTTC) “Faster Fibre Broadband” bundle start at £28.50 per month for either a 12 or 18 month contract term (£32 thereafter).
