Rochdale-based ISP Zen Internet has appointed the former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Easynet, Justin Fielder, to take up the same position in their own business.
Readers may recall that Easynet was acquired by BSkyB and during that period Fielder became the ‘Director of Sky Network Services’ and later ‘Director of Research Design and Customer Technology’. As part of that he also helped to put together Easynet’s unbundled (LLU) network and oversaw the related Sky Broadband roll-out.
Zen of course has built their own Local Loop Unbundling platform and as such there are many similarities between them and Sky / Easynet.
Justin Fielder said:
“I see a lot of Easynet in Zen. Easynet was operating at a larger scale but this company has all the pieces in place, and has just doubled its LLU footprint. There are big gaps in the market and major opportunities for Zen, so it’s an exciting time to join the business.”
End.
