Telecoms and internet provider Vodafone has today reported that they added +29K new customers to their UK home broadband service in Q2 2017 (total 245,000), which is down from the +33K added in Q1 (calendar). Meanwhile their 4G population coverage has reached 97%.
It’s worth pointing out that even big operators like BT were only able to add +29K broadband customers during the first quarter of 2017 (calendar), while this week saw TalkTalk report that they added +20K in Q2. In other words, Vodafone are doing well given that they’re a fairly new entrant to the fixed broadband field.
Vodafone also reported that their base of fixed line voice customers increased by +23,000 during the quarter (total 153,000), although their overall fixed line service revenue declined -3.9% (related more to business connectivity than residential). Similarly the operator’s mobile service revenue also declined by -2.3%.
Unfortunately there’s not a lot else to report on the 4G and broadband front this time but you can view the latest results online.
