At the end of last month BT (Wholesale) released an update on their UK roll-out plans for various future broadband upgrades and technologies, which covers a variety of areas from the new FTTP speed profiles to the national roll-out of 21CN WBC (replacing all IPStream by 2018). BT has today published their latest quarterly results (Q4 2016 calendar), which saw their retail broadband base grow by +83k to total 9,276,000 subscribers (up from +76k added in Q3) and Openreach report that 7,177,000 now take an FTTC/P based “fibre broadband” service via their UK network.

The latest quarterly (Q3 2016 calendar) results have been published by BT today, which reveal that their retail broadband base now tops 9,193,000 customers (up by +76K, unchanged from Q2) and 4,473,000 of those take their ‘Infinity‘ (FTTC/P) superfast broadband (up by +216K vs +181K in Q2).

A framework for the next decade of UK telecoms and broadband regulation has today been set out by Ofcom, which will see Openreach improve service quality, become more independent and give rival ISPs more access to their cable ducts. BT has released its latest Q1 2016 results (calendar), which reveals that their retail division has a total of 9,041,000 broadband subscribers (up by +1.045 million in Q1 vs +130K in Q4 2015) and 4.076m of those are taking their FTTC/P based BTInfinity superfast broadband service (up by +214k vs +250K at the end of 2015).
