Worcestershire UK Unveils Next Areas to Benefit from Fibre Broadband

The Superfast Worcestershire (England) project has today announced which areas will benefit from its second contract with BTOpenreach, which aims to expand the local coverage of “high-speed fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) to an additional 8,000 premises by Autumn 2017.

1 in 3 Home Broadband Routers to Double as Public WiFi Hotspots by 2017

A new report from Juniper Research has predicted that “at least” 1 in 3 home broadband routers will be used as Public WiFi hotspots by 2017 (BT Broadband subscribers already have this feature on their HomeHub), with ISPs increasingly using their subscribers as vessels to spread WiFi connectivity.

Cheshire Villagers to Stump Up GBP35K for Faster Broadband from BT

BDUK Publish Data on Premises Passed for sub-24Mbps Broadband

At the end of last year the Government announced that their Broadband Delivery UK project with BT had so far managed to expand the availability of superfast broadband (24Mbps+) capable lines to 3.5 million premises (here), but we now know that this figure is closer to 4 million when you include sub-24Mbps premises.

BT Appoint Howard Watson as CEO of Tech, Service and Operations

BT Boosts Customer Support with 1,000 New UK Based Jobs

Last year BT pledged to answer “more than” 80% of its customers’ calls in the United Kingdom by the end of 2016 (here) and today they’ve moved forward with that commitment by announcing the creation of 1,000 permanent UK jobs, which reflect “frontline roles in customer care” to be filled by April 2017.
