Damaging software (script or small application) that infects your computer with the sole purpose of causing destruction or general disruption. Most often spread via malicious e-mail attachments or computer storage media. Most viruses cannot infect a system until they are able to trick the user into running them, such as by appearing to be a legitimate document or video.
