Much like speaking down a telephone line to somebody, this simply carries that same 'voice' (human speech) transmission over the Internet’s network instead. It’s usually cheaper, but of course requires an Internet connection. VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) benefits from low latency broadband services with fast upload speeds.
