Ultra-Wideband was designed primarily as a short range and higher speed replacement for Bluetooth technology, which can be found inside most modern mobile phones, laptops and PDA's. Both are wireless technologies. Elements of UWB have since found their way into the Wireless USB communications standard for computers and mobile devices.
