Ultra-Wide Band was designed primarily as a short range and higher speed replacement for Bluetooth technology, which can be found inside most modern mobile phones, laptops and PDA's. Both are wireless technologies. Elements of UWB have since found their way into the other close proximity communication standards for computers and mobile devices.
