Unmetered services mean you pay a bulk (single) sum of money every month (or annum, quarter etc.) for a set period of access, bandwidth (speed) or data consumption. Many ISPs prefer to use the broadly similar term of "unlimited".
Example: 240hrs dialup internet surfing (no extra phone call charges) for a single monthly payment.
