Think you can create an innovative Wi-Fi application that makes clever use of wireless Internet access? BT and Symbian have launched the 'Wi-Fi Developer Challenge' to seek out the most innovative applications for Wi-Fi enabled mobile devices:

To enter the challenge, developers should create an application for Wi-Fi enabled smartphones based on the Symbian operating system. The application should make use of the device's Wi-Fi connection for some of its operation. Applications will be judged on the innovative use they make of Wi-Fi connectivity, how easy they are to use, and their commercial potential.

The winning application will win £1000, and there are smaller prizes for runners-up. The challenge is open from 16th October, and the closing date for entries is 16th January 2008.
