Those choosing to dine at one of McDonald's 1,200 UK restaurants may be pleased to learn that the fast-food giants are introducing FREE Wi-Fi Hotspot access too. The move follows BT's link up with FON, which allows the operators customers to share out their broadband access with others via Wi-Fi.

In addition, the rise of cheaper Mobile Broadband (3G) services has begun to make full-price commercial Wi-Fi access look increasingly dated.
