Roughly 3,000 residents of the Islington (London) Ashby House and Marquess housing estates have been given access to the council’s free broadband wireless (Wi-Fi) network. Network provider Cityspace and Islington’s Technology Solutions Group jointly completed the upgrade, which has been designed to improve the services coverage.

The wireless mesh network delivers speeds of between 350 and 500Kbps, while roughly 15,000 users currently connect to the service every month.
