Initially we had thought THIS was old news but it turns out that the Post Office (Royal Mail) has in fact quietly launched its new broadband service. That'll make a nice change from strikes then.

The service, which is based off BT's wholesale managed broadband product, offers a mix of 12 month contract based standalone broadband packages and bundles that include line rental:

Post Office® Broadband (£15.95)
* Up to 8Mbps
* Modem included
* Free Setup
* 24 hour UK technical support
* 5GB monthly download limit
* Basic email and anti-virus

NOTE: For £20.95 you can get an enhanced 'Extra' version of this package with a wireless router, "unlimited" (Fair Usage Policy) downloads and improved security features.

Post Office HomePhone® with Broadband Standard (£21.95)
* Up to 8Mbps
* Modem included
* Free Setup
* Line rental included in monthly fee
* Free calls to other Post Office® Homephone customers
* Free evening and weekend calls
* 24 hour UK technical support
* 5GB monthly download limit
* Basic email and anti-virus

NOTE: For £25.95 you can get an enhanced 'Extra' version of this package with a wireless router, "unlimited" (Fair Usage Policy) downloads and improved security features.

Overall the pricing appears to be around average for most broadband bundles, as can be seen by comparing what bundles you can get in the £25 per month price region under our related listings HERE.
