The latest switching index statistics from MoneyExpert.com report a 12% increase in the number of consumers changing broadband provider.

Roughly 2,878,000 people have changed their ISP over the past six months, which equates to an increase of +231,553 households. Some 15,900 homes are now switching broadband provider every day.

The increase could at least be partly attributed to Ofcom's new broadband ADSL migration code (MAC) rules, yet it’s clear migration hadn’t exactly been low prior to their introduction.
