AOL UK Loses Customer E-Mails
By: MarkJ - 11 April, 2007 (9:19 AM)

The Carphone Warehouse owned ISP AOL UK has reportedly lost thousands of customer e-mails after archives were wiped. Some individual users have lost over 1,000 of their stored message, although it's unclear how far the problem has spread.

AOL denied that a problem exists with its e-mail platform and has assigned technical staff to investigate the matter further. Typically it is the user’s responsibility to store their messages and relying on the ISP is always a risky proposition, as many Plusnet users could attest.
