BT has expanded its '
Wireless Cities' project to cover Manchester, Belfast and the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
The operators
Wi-Fi Internet access network has already been or is in the process of being installed at the following urban locations:
* Birmingham
* Liverpool
* Newcastle
* Edinburgh
* Glasgow
* Leeds
* Nottingham
* Portsmouth
* Cardiff
* Sheffield
* Bristol
* London's City of WestminsterTypically anybody with a
Wi-Fi equipped computer or laptop can access BT's network for a fee of £25 per month or £6 per hour. However we wouldn't be surprised if pressure from rival Mobile Broadband (3G) services forced a price reduction in the future.
Wi-Fi Hotspot prices have typically remained largely static over the past couple of years while competing technologies have moved forwards. Though
The Cloud’s £9.99 per month tariff is attractive if you’re covered.
