Several readers have dropped us e-mails pointing to what appears to be a new broadband package from AOL UK. The 'AOL Broadband Wireless Plus' offer, which we don't recall seeing before, combines an 'up to' 8Mbps connection with a free wireless router for £24.99 per month (£19.99 for the first 3 months).

What makes this package different from their 'Platinum' one, other than the price, is the inclusion of a clearly defined 40GB download cap. There’s also a frightening 24 month contract (ouch!) and the promotion only appears to be open until 2nd September 2007.

In addition customers will be REQUIRED to purchase the AOL Talk voice product; not doing so will cost you an additional £5 per month. Finally and keeping with the providers recent changes, this price is only available to those covered by AOL's (Carphone's) unbundled network. Everybody else has to pay £34.99 per month.
