The latest PacketExchange poll of 150 UK surfers found that 63% want a faster online experience and 54% would like it to be safer. In addition nearly 70% claimed they would wait just 10 seconds or less for a webpage to load before looking towards alternative web sites:
In contrast to the virtual world, the nations of queuers were more than happy to wait up to 15 minutes in a nightclub or post office queue. Slow web pages weren’t the only pet peeve of the internet shopper, with poor web design (50.4%) and crashing websites (52%) as other annoying traits of their online experience.
Online shoppers were not only impatient when browsing goods online, but over 70% said they cancelled mid-way through checkout due to slow speeds.
