Owners of Sony's new super-expensive PlayStation 3 (PS3) console will be pleased to learn that the electronics giant is preparing to bring video-on-demand (VoD) services and Freeview television to the platform before Christmas.
Sure to help eat up any remaining broadband bandwidth, the service is expected to be formally announced at the forthcoming Leipzig Games Convention in Germany. Microsoft's rival XBox360 has been offering similar services in the USA for awhile, although its European portfolio is still somewhat weak.
We suspect that this will result in more surfers hitting the broadband restrictions of their ISPs, only to be left wondering why their connection has just got even slower.
