Wireless (WiMAX) ISP FREEDOM4 has announced the acquisition of Wi-Fi roaming services provider, BOZII. The move will give FREEDOM4 access to over 40,000 Wi-Fi Hotspots in the UK and internationally. FREEDOM4 is now expected to re-brand BOZII's service to 'FREEDOM4 WiFi':

Richard Cunliffe, of BOZII, comments, “We are delighted with the acquisition as the collaboration of WiFi and WiMAX networks is an important step for the convergence of data networks in the UK. With the support and expertise of FREEDOM4, we look forward to growing our aggregated network and offering the service to an increased number of users.

Meanwhile, FREEDOM4 has also signed two reseller deals as part of its WiMAX roll-out in Manchester and Warwick, providing further opportunities to access WiMAX-enabled wireless broadband in businesses and homes. Mumtel Limited will begin by reselling services in the Manchester area, while Konnex Networks Ltd will be the first reseller in Warwick.

These agreements follow the previously announced deal with ConnectMK to provide WiMAX-based services in Milton Keynes – the third city to be covered by FREEDOM4’s initial network build.
