Ofcom has released its latest quarterly (Q4-2007) Telecommunications market data tables (
here), which includes a breakdown of total small business and residential broadband connections. BT Retail's market share has remained largely unchanged at 26.5% in Q4, which compares with 26.4% during Q3-2007. The figures break down as follows:
- BT Retail xDSL (ADSL) - 4,139,000
- Other xDSL (exc. LLU) - 4,290,000
- VirginMedia (Cable) - 3,414,000
- Other inc. (LLU) - 3,764,000
It's worth noting that BT Retail's DSL numbers have been adjusted to exclude corporate broadband. Meanwhile, unbundled (
LLU) broadband connections continue to grow and suck subscribers from rival platforms.
