O2 (Be Broadband) has today announced the introduction of a new Premium Home Broadband package, which costs just £9.76 per month for existing O2 mobile customers and includes download speeds of up to 20Mbps and an "unlimited usage allowance". Non-O2 mobile users will also be able to receive the service, albeit at the higher price of £14.68.

O2 has also launched a Pro package for heavy consumer Internet users and small businesses, which costs £17.13 for O2 mobile customers and £22.02 for non-O2 mobile customers. Naturally a 12 month minimum term contract applies to both packages, which are only available from specially unbundled (LLU) exchanges.

The Pro service includes an enhanced wireless 802.11n router, download speeds of up to 20Mbps (2.5Mbps upload), prioritised 24/7 UK-based customer service, "unlimited usage allowance" and the option of a free static IP address.
