FREE Dropped from Mobile Broadband and Laptop Bundles

The Carphone Warehouse, Phones 4u and Three (3) have ceased to promote Mobile Broadband and Laptop bundles with the word "FREE". The move follows fears that the term could have been seen as misleading by Trading Standards, which is not currently known to be investigating the promotions.

The term was most frequently used in reference to the Laptop side of bundles, which were touted as being a "FREE" extra when customers took a lengthy Mobile Broadband service contract, often costing in the region of £20 to £30 per month. One quick look at Carphone's site shows the change, with Laptops now being referred to as "Included".
