Be Broadband Warns of Costly Christmas Digital Divide

UK ISP Be Broadband has urged shoppers to take advantage of the savings available to high-speed users, revealing a typical family could save over £285 on their Christmas list. This would be done by using Internet shopping sites and cashback offers from major retailers, with a little help from Be.

Naturally the research was conducted to coincide with the launch of Be Broadband’d promotion on Quidco, com, where new customers to Be can save up to £76 and get a free connection if they buy the Be Value product through http://www.quidco.com/bethere-co-uk :

The shopping list we put together would have cost £876 if we went to the high street. With online shopping you’ll quickly find massive discounts from respected retailers online” said Felix Geyr, Managing Director at Be Broadband. “Our customers tell us that high-speed is great for multimedia and gaming, but these figures show it can replace the high street as well.

Several examples are touted, such as a saving of 75% on H Samuel's gold and diamond earrings via Amazon, which would have cost £135 on the High Street but can be had for £33.75 online.
