The Managing Director of UK ISP
Vispa Internet, James Ormerod, informs us that the providers new 'up to' 24Mbps (ADSL2+) broadband services have finally gone live. They had originally been due to surface during the summer; unfortunately delays inherited from
BT's rollout of supporting (WBC/21CN) technology have since impacted all
BT-based ISPs.
Package prices will start from as low as £12.99 inc. VAT per month for a 1GB usage capped service. However all packages will include "
unlimited" overnight usage (12 midnight to 07:59am), a one month contract, static IP, UK based support, anti-virus/spam filtering, five POP3/IMAP mailboxes and 100 free landline calls to 01 and 02 numbers:
Vispa Broadband - Up to 24Mbps Packages:- 1GB (Monthly Data Allowance) - £12.99 Per Month
- 3GB - £15.99
- 15GB - £23.99
- 30GB - £32.99
- 60GB - £51.99
(£1.50 per extra GB)
The new services certainly aren't among the cheapest we've seen, although
Vispa has a tendency to focus on quality and services first. To date very few
BT-based ISPs have introduced 'up to' 24Mbps ADSL2+ products due to their delayed coverage/rollout and or lack of a managed WBC solution, though more are expected to follow before next summer.
A one-off charge of £39.99 will also be applied to new line activations, though inbound migrations from rival providers are free. Existing customers can also upgrade to the new speed for a one-off re-grade fee of £14.99.
