BT has begun deploying 2Wire HomePortal(R) intelligent residential gateways to connect subscribers with its new next generation fibre optic broadband trials in Ebbsfleet. The trial will use Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) technology to deliver speeds of up to 100Mbps to residents of the new build homes.

The TR-069 standard-compliant 2Wire HomePortal 2701HGV comes with a simplified self-installation, ADSL2+ modem, Ethernet network interface, HyperG(R) wireless router, Voice-over-IP (VoIP) support and a firewall for security.
