The first 'alpha' release of Opera's next version 10 website browsing software has been released for preview purposes. Among other things it includes a new rendering engine (Presto 2.2) for a 30% faster browsing experience. Other features are as follows:

• Spell-checking as you type (inline)


• Fully passes the Acid 3 (CSS) web standards test


• Auto-updating


• Support for HTML formatting of e-mails


• Web Fonts and SVG


• Opacity through RGBA and HSLA


• Improved Dragonfly web editing
