Kevin Walsh, KCOM's group executive officer, has defended his ISP's provision of broadband services to the Hull area, making it out to be as good as "
any broadband service in the country":
"The service we are delivering locally is as good as any broadband service in the country. I appreciate, as a customer, if you only have a choice of one provider you have nothing to compare the service with.
We are investing in new equipment on the network which other ISPs are displaying on their national networks, which provides comparable data with other ISPs."
KCOM has come under fire on several occasions over the prices it charges for both wholesale and retail broadband services. However, both aspects have recently seen improvements (
