Fixed wireless broadband ISP FREEDOM4 has teamed up with Vialtus Solutions (formerly Pipex Business) to help distribute its new WiMAX based wireless broadband service in Manchester:


WiMAX enables businesses of all sizes to benefit from access to a high speed wireless broadband connection, without the need for a fixed telephone line. Offering faster symmetrical speeds than traditional ADSL and quicker deployment, the Vialtus WiMAX service will be available across FREEDOM4’s existing network, including Milton Keynes and Warwick, as well as in Manchester.

Recent research conducted by FREEDOM4 indicated that businesses in Manchester are frustrated with slow internet speeds and unreliable connections. The survey showed that half of SMEs in Manchester are unhappy with the speed of their internet connectivity (57%) despite the fact that 97% of respondents citing the internet as a vital tool for business.
