Three (3) Offers Mobile Broadband Modem Insurance

UK mobile phone operator Three (3) has teamed up with insurance provider Lifestyle Services Group (LSG) to offer 'Mobile Broadband' customers the ability to insure their modems. The cost of £3.49 per month could make it a hard sell, but what do you get for that?:
It's worth pointing out that the USB Mobile Broadband Modem dongle from Three (3) costs between £0 (free on 18 month contracts) and £99 for a pay-as-you-go option, yet third party replacement HSPA (3.5G) USB modems can be up to £150.
The insurance sales will be handled by 3 and its sub-contracted agents. Policy administration, claims handling and fulfilment are provided by LSG. 3Cover aims for 48-hour replacement (following claim acceptance) and cover against:
- Loss
- Theft*
- Accidental or Malicious Damage
- Water or Liquid Damage
- Electrical or Mechanical Breakdown
