Security Apathy Still Rife Among UK Internet Population
UK internet users still don't worry about the effects of viruses until its almost too late research into BT Openworld's customer base has found.
This week has seen a number of virulent viruses attack the virtual world and, as a result, demand for BT Openworld's security products has risen by over 900 per cent!
Duncan Ingram, managing director for BT Openworld said: "We are urging all our customers to protect themselves with virus filters and other security products. We have already seen a huge rise in demand this week but we would recommend that our customers continually check they have the best security in place all year round, not just when viruses attack."
BT Openworld provides anti-spam and anti-virus software and when BT Yahoo! launches on September 2, the ISP will also provide a built in firewall.
