The governments Office of National Statistics (ONS) has once again updated its monthly Internet access stats, this time for June. Internet access subscriptions increased by 0.6% between May and June 2003.
Broadband Internet access connections took the largest growth percentage by increasing to 16.8% (June) from 16.1% in May. Once again dialup continued to decline with a negative shift of 0.5% between the same two months.
Unmetered dialup moved from it's normally 'steady' seat with a 1% loss of market share in a shift from May's 36% to June's 35%.
By comparison some Asian countries continue to see a far stronger boom in broadband Internet access. The good news is that another research firm, Ovum, expects the UK to catch up by 2009.
