Plusnet Voted 'Best ISP on the Planet'

Posted: 11th Nov, 2003 By: MarkJ
Having recently won a 'Best Broadband ISP' award from PC Pro, UK ISP Plusnet has now also been awarded the 'The Best ISP on the Planet' by Internet Magazine. Plusnet also rates very highly in our own reader ADSL ISP reviews:

PlusNet voted 'Best ISP on the Planet'

Internet Magazine has voted PlusNet (www.plus.net) 'The Best ISP on the Planet', in their annual survey of the UK's top Internet Service Providers. The popular ISP for home and business was declared the 'clear winner' for its 'wide range of products at impressively low prices'.

One of the UK's leading computer industry publications, Internet Magazine is highly respected by technology professionals and consumers alike for consistently giving unbiased advice on Internet-related topics. To determine the winner of the 'Best ISP on the Planet' Awards 2003, Internet magazine undertook in-depth reviews of the UK's major ISPs, appraising Products and Services, Customer Service, Performance and Value for Money.

"We have a clear winner this year - our 'Best ISP on the Planet' accolade goes to PlusNet," stated Scott Parker, Associate Editor, in the December issue of the magazine.

PlusNet's consistent quality of performance was especially highlighted. "(Broadband) ADSL packages get a resounding thumbs-up from visitors to ADSL Guide (www.adslguide.org.uk), and PlusNet always appears well up the list of speediest providers. There are a wide variety of dial-up packages too.

But the icing on the cake is all the extra features you get with your connection, which include bags of free Web space and support for CGI, PHP and My SQL, which is rare for ISPs.
"

PlusNet, a subsidiary of Insight Enterprises Inc. (Nasdaq: NSIT), are one of the UK's most popular providers of Broadband ADSL and have recently been voted 'Best Broadband ISP' in PC Pro magazine's 'Reliability and Service Awards 2003'.

"This award is yet another prestigious accolade to be presented with," said Marco Potesta, Commercial Director at PlusNet. "We are very pleased to have been voted 'The Best ISP on the Planet' by one of the UK's most highly respected Internet magazines. It comes as further testament to PlusNet's superior operating model, which consistently delivers a quality customer experience at a lower cost structure than any of our competitors."

PlusNet's ability to deliver the best Internet access products at the lowest cost has been recognised, not only by the UK's most respected commentators, but also by Oftel, the UK telecom industry watchdog.

In their latest research, published on 27th October, Oftel acknowledges PlusNet Technologies Ltd. ('PlusNet') as providing the lowest cost residential Broadband ADSL service throughout Europe and the US. In the 'International benchmarking report of Internet services', PlusNet are shown to offer the lowest cost 'classic' broadband (512kbps downstream / 256kbps upstream) service of the many ISPs researched.

The Best ISP on the Planet Awards appears in the December 2003 issue of Internet Magazine (published 31st October 2003).
