Firenet Wins Which Magazine Award

Posted: 08th Nov, 2003 By: MarkJ
UK ISP Firenet has begun touting its success after winning Which Magazine's 'Best Buy' award in two dialup categories (fastest speeds in upload and download):

Firenet wins Which Magazine Best Buy ISP in Both Categories

Firenet, who has continued to work with customers, in trying for the best dial up services possible, now believe it has paid off, Which Magazine, has 530,000 members who will be reading the reviews on the fact that Firenet Ltd are the Best Buy ISP twice!

The Firenet Lite Plus package won the fastest speeds in upload and download, and given the fact that the price was only 12.99 per month, as well as having no engaged tones at all, this service proved very successful for their testing. This also came with a free month for the service.

Which Magazine stated, “Our best buys have to meet three criteria that reflect a consistently good performance.

1 Above average speeds for downloading files, no matter the time of day.

2 At least average upload speeds. This is important if you upload digital photos or important if upload digital photos or content to your own website for example.

3 A minimum number of dial up errors or drop out connections.
”

The other winner in this testing procedure was, the Firenet pay as you go, which had also won another Best Buy ISP under the same criteria. Firenet management were amazed at the double award.

Alan Castle CEO of Firenet Internet stated,“I was delighted that after all the hard work we put into the company trying to get all our customers stabilized after the Affinity/Vital Data/Breathe collapse. It has finally paid off, we have magazines, the likes of Which? Magazine and other Internet magazines who recognise our attitude in ensuring perfect standards.”

The other ISPs that didn’t quite hit the mark was BTopenworld, Tiscali, Freeserve, PlusNet, NDO and AOL amongst others who were tested, But VirginNet’s 24/7 got the worst buy mark by Which Magazine due to slowest uploads/download speeds.

Firenet have now been awarded 4 other national awards to date in the provision of service since the company has started in 1999.
