Network Utilities teams up with iPass to deploy Secure Global Internet Connectivity

Network Utilities (Systems), a prominent UK supplier of RADIUS authentication systems and WLAN security, today announced an agreement with iPass® Inc, a leading virtual network operator providing enterprise connectivity services. This agreement will allow Network Utilities to offer end-to-end, managed dial-up and broadband connectivity and VPN services to organizations based in the UK.

iPass Inc provides software-enabled enterprise connectivity services designed to give employees secure access to information and applications on the corporate network from virtually any location in the world. As a virtual network operator (VNO), iPass offers enterprise employees a range of Internet protocol-based connectivity technologies, including dial-up, ISDN as well as wired and wireless broadband service at airports, hotels and conference centres worldwide via its unparalleled network of over 275 tier one providers.

Through the iPass partnership, Network Utilities will provide business clients with the ability to connect remotely to their corporate resources with the ease and cost of placing a local phone call from virtually anywhere in the world. Connectivity is delivered through the easy-to-use and easy-to-deploy user interface, the iPassConnectTM smart-client, which provides support for notebooks, desktops, handheld computers and PDAs over Wi-Fi (802.11b wireless broadband), Ethernet (wired broadband), ISDN or dial connections.

Network Utilities will promote the iPass client with its RADIUS and WLAN deployments offering maximum security for mobile clients.

Geoff Wilson, EMEA Managing Director at iPass Inc, said "iPass' enterprise connectivity services offer a unique bespoke solution to major issues currently faced by most corporates: delivering increased productivity and convenience to their remote employees in a secure manner. Network Utilities' expertise in WLAN security will be key to delivering a fully secure, best of breed enterprise connectivity solution to blue-chip customers in the UK."

Michele Lewington, managing director of Network Utilities, said: "Today's global enterprises demand that their workforces should be increasingly mobile - and it is this mobility and the issues around security, which has become critical for today's organization. The iPass corporate access service together with our managed secure authentication offering is the perfect remote access solution as it delivers the highest levels of accessibility, security and ease of use".
