Summary: Junk
July 23rd, 2008 (Last Edited: July 23rd, 2008)

I have been with tiscali for over three years, and from the start nothing but problems.

There support staff, all sing from the same song sheet, when you can understand them.

They have bandwith shaping after 7pm gmt, which is not good if you like online gaming.

I am not normally the type of person to complain or post a review, but this isp has drove me crazy for years, so people please be warned.

Summary: The Absolute Worst
February 26th, 2005 (Last Edited: April 28th, 2008)
I attempted to cancel my Dialup Tiscali account after a month. They make it close to imposible for anyone to get in contact with them. You have to use a VERY lame web-based emailing panel. Then, they do not reply. They ignore you. That's all there is to it. I wasted so much time trying to contact them and it got me nowhere. Eventually I resorted to using a help line which is a toll-number. The lame excuses I got when I told them I want to terminate the account was, "Our computers aren't working. You have to call back another time". After 7 months of charging my credit card I contacted a solicitor and only THEN did they cancel the account.

Summary: TISCALI? NEVER AGAIN
October 18th, 2006 (Last Edited: April 28th, 2008)

On the 3rd of july 2006 my direct debit with tiscalli failed due to insufficient funds this incurred me a charge of £30 this charge i do not dispute as it was clearly my fault. However on the letter i received telling me about the failed dd i was told to ring a number to \"arrange settlement and update payment details\".i rang this number and was informed that the direct debit was now cancelled and the only way to pay for the outstanding amount was by card. Also the DD would not be reinstated until the 3rd of september when the new contract was due to start. I made a payment of £17.99 on the 3rd of august and a further payment of £17.99 in mid august to bring the account up to date. I was asked on the second payment call if i wanted to reinstate the DD i said no because i was thinking of changing to another provider. In mid september i received a bank statement that revealed that tiscalli had ih fact not cancelled the DD but had tried to take a payment of £38.98 on the 7th of august. Because i had been told that the DD had been cancelled there was no money in the bank to cover this and i incurred another bank charge of £30 this i do complain about because i think it is tiscalli\'s mistake. I have tried on numerouse occassions to resolve this with tiscalli including writing to them only to be told that tiscalli do not refund bank charges i find this totally unfair. The last time i rang the man i spoke to a MARTIN CURL told me that the person that told me the DD had been cancelled was from a collection agency and that they would say anything to get a payment and that tiscalli do not take responsibilty for what he said. I do not believe this is the case as i have rung the same number as the supposed collection agency and have always been put through to tiscalli customer support not any kind of collection agency.

Signed up with Tiscali, was supposed 2 have 50hrs anytime dial-up access per month.Supposed 2B able 2 keep track of how many mins used via their website, problem being that the info is updated when they feel like it,sometimes days out of date so u go over your 50hrs and incurr extra charges without realising."Monthly" bills appeared when they could be bothered 2 get round 2 it.On 1 occasion went 4 months without a bill, then of course had a massive one 2 cover those 4 months!Customer support line=hours on hold and probs not solved resulting in more calls 2B told different info from previous calls!Billed months after cancelling.Bloody awful! :(
