Summary: Not Happy!!!

I chose this ISP from the reviews and because it was unlimited... Not because I go mad with the internet.. I do most of my surfing at work...

However over the last month my wife has downloaded 4-5 films and we have hit the 15GB limit that just appeared...

Personally I'm glad they don't do month than 1 month billing because this cap to 15GB has really p****d me off. 

 I was paying for unlimited (with fair usage) not I'm paying for a 15GB cap and the same price...

 ISP's that are greedy don't last long... you've just lost 1 customer..

Summary: Gone downhill

When I first joined Fast4, it was through recommendations and things were fine for the first few months, much better than my previous ISP.

However, the problems then started to kick in. EurISP had ping, latency, email and disconnection problems, and a database problem left me out of pocket for a few months as I ended up paying for two subscriptions. Things improved slightly when they switched to MurphX but then they got rid of their unlimited service, capping customers at 15GB or getting them to leave one way or another. This was after only a couple of days notice. At this point, I thought enough was enough and I shall be obtaining my MAC and moving to another ISP a few days after I write this review come payday.

As for now, the caps and price are not competitive with other suppliers, and there are still problems with latency and speed every now and again. On the plus side, the email problems have gone and disconnections are now rare. To their credit, customer services have helped and been good to solve any problems that have occured. I haven't had to use the premium rate technical support numbers. However, considering the swift and sudden changes to Fast4's ideology and service without adequate warning and their service degrading over the last few months, in particular the change to a 15GB capped service with little warning, I can no longer recommend them to anyone.

Shame really, when I joined them, Fast4 had their heart in the right place, but it hasn't worked out.

i was only with fast4 for a couple of months and they have to be the worst isp i have ever delt with

 shockingly bad pings and constant downgrades to there service

 when you ask for a mac code you have to jump though hoops they even cancelled my adsl line to i almost had to pay £50 to get my line reactivated

 there new 'backbone' provider is terrible  for the last 2 weeks i was with fast4 i was geting a total of 5kbs even when i had 10gb of my usuage allowed still remaining

 keep away far away from these cowboys

They were ok for about a year.  Slow speeds, disconnections, downtime were common but it was better than using a dialup modem and they didn't complain if you downloaded the odd video.

 Then they swapped from taking a monthly subscription to charging based on how much you used the internet at punative rates.  They gave no notice - one minute it was free (included in the monthly subscription) and the next it was 2 pounds per per GB (About one hours worth of intensive internet use).  I built up a bill of 56 pounds before I accidentely stumbled on their new charging structure.

 What they did is totally illegal and againing the Communications Act 2003.  However they are still passing these bills over to debt collection agencies to collect.  Absolute ****.

When I subscibed to fast 4 it was advertised and sold as an unlimited service.  So the previous review asking to ignore people complaining about something they bought and didnt get is unjust.  I usually dont bother with writing reviews but feel I had to write. 

Initially the service was good - a few disconnection then stable for some months, but as other reviews stated -  the service changed over night with little warning, in my last month speeds were unbearable not much over 4kb.

I've moved ISP's now and have had no problems.
