Been with BE for about a year now and I am well impressed (despite the free modem not being the best there is).

Out of the potential 24MB I signed up I get around 7.5 due to being miles from the exchange. Upload I get 1.3 as advertised and it's stable. Customer support is very good, never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes and they know their stuff. No silly requests like reboot PC or change filter etc.

And they give you a present on your B'Day :-) and they do lower the prices of their package to existing customers; not just new ones (not like bulldog where I had to ask to get the lower priced SAME package)

Summary: 2 Hours and 30 minutes for Technical support

As Im writing Im in position 3 waiting for Techn support 1 hour and 34 minutes already to move from 10 to 3! HOW BAD IS THIS!??!!!!???!! Have to call them ones every week to change DNS server to get up to speed again. Nothing new as I can see on this forum! Worst customer service  ever! Based in Bulgaria i think! The guys know their stuff but the constant changes of DNS server drives me MAD. And the time to get to THEM! :(

Want to change them NOW!!!!!

It took a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes to get to Technical support at the end!!!!!!! Changed DNS server again!!!! They are not reliable  at all!!!

Im only 200 meters from the Exchange but this is not the problem. As soon as change the DNS server service is up and running again.

Been with Be since feb 2007.

Out of the 3 problems i have had. There support could fix them or at least recognise there is a problem and work to get it solved. I was never once fobbed off with the old script of "Have you changed the filter?" .. "Have you checked your machine for viruses?" .. "Not our problem its BT's".

All they offer is stable and fast access to the internet. That is all i ever wanted.

Coming from UKOffline it was a sigh of relief.

I have hit 250Gb in one month before.. didnt hear a thing,

Now being owned by O2 there is a great deal of ££££££££'s being spent on the infrastructure. Ive had a couple of wobbly moments when bandwidth dropped a little.. But within a couple of days it was back, saying that it still ran faster than my old ukoffline 2mb. So i wasnt entirely fussed.

You cannot go wrong with Be! :)

Please tell me another ISP that would give you a free day on your birthday. Plus have a working friend referal scheme.. Ive had 5 free months so far.

Have experienced a number of ISPs in my time, and this is so far the best.

Connection was completed about 2 days after sign up - which is frankly astounding. I think they can manage to do this as they run a LLU service and therefore have access to the local exchange to make a connection themselves - ie don't have to rely on a lazy/stupid/unmotivated BT engineer to get it done.

Paying £14 per month for 8mb unlimited. Pretty close to exchange and receiving actual speeds of up to 5mb - pretty damn good in my opinion.

Using them for over 6 months now, with no outages or drops in speed that would cause problems with gaming/surfing/downloads that I am used from other companies.

Fair usage policy applies to downloads, but have gone above 100Gb/month with no complaints from them.

Watch out for the contract details. Have to give 3 months notice to cancel, and router is £100 if not returned. The router they provided is a piece of junk Thomson-Speedtouch jobby, but to be fair, it is no charge if returned.

In all - very impressed so far. I beleive they have been bought out by mobile company O2, let's hope this will not affect the quality of their service.

When I asked Be what speed I could expect, they advised me that, given the distance to the exchange, I ought to get at least 6 megabits, maybe more. I decided to go for it and ended up getting just over 10 megabits which is good enough. I regularly download at just over 1 megabyte per second. I rather like the fact that they are a touch pessimistic about the speed rather than promising high speed and failing to deliver it.

Reliability seems good. Occasional outages for upgrades take place at night and warning is given by email.

Customer services were poor when I called just after signup, 2 years ago, but I havn\'t needed them since.
