I have been with Demon/Thus/Cable&Wireless (Demon Home 500 and 8000) for about three years and there has been a sharp degradation in the level of customer service to the point where I given notice that I wish to terminate my agreement. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced - beating even BT in levels of ineptitude.
Their non-uk based customer service advisers are pretty mindless with no-one wanting to take responsibility for progressing a customer issue through to resolution. You simply get passed from one department to another with each representative claiming that they do not have the ability to resolve your simple problem.
Speed has always been 'middling' at best with frequent momentary drop-outs. This seems to be regardless of location as I have had similar levels of performance at three addresses.
Technical Support has been OK-ish.
Beware of their contract which requires you sign-up for a further 12 months if you move to another address.
