ADSL24

Summary: Back to Winning Ways

I have been an ADSL C&W LLU customer for several weeks, and can confidently say they are by far the most reliable service I've used to date.

From signing up and providing my MAC (migrating from O2 Access - slow & terrible!), I was activated within 1 week. Email updates were provided at every stage of the migration, and as promised on the migration date, the service worked.

When signing up, I was advised I would receive around 14mb on their up to 24mb LLU service, which is exactly what I have been receiving, both at peak and off peak times.

No traffic shaping or throttling at peak times, a static IP and no download limits - all for under £20 a month.

Yes, you'll need to provide your own router (I went with the Netgear DGN2000, which cost around £60 new from PC World) - but it's a worthwhile investment.

Clearly ADSL24 have had their service issues in the past, both with their broadband and customer services, from what I've read here and on the ADSL24 forum - but it seems things are turning for the good again.

I'd also take some of the negative reviews with a pinch of salt - ADSL24 clearly state the router equipment required to use their service, which most people appear to ignore or buy second hand (and then wonder why their service is unstable!).
