ISP Tiscali UK has reported its latest set of results to the end of 2008 (Q4), which shows yet another decline in its broadband (ADSL) subscriber base to 1,768,000 from 1,774,000 in Q3 2008. However this reduction of -6,000 customers is significantly slower than the -64,000 drop seen between Q2 and Q3 of the same year.
Tiscali currently has 827,000 of its broadband customers on their cheaper unbundled (LLU) platform, which is curiously a lot lower than the 889,000 figure touted in its previous 30th September 2008 results (
original news). The ISP now plans to focus more on its double-play offers in LLU areas, improving customer service and further "cost efficiencies" from the Pipex takeover.
There's also talk about "
rationalising" its product portfolio, including Internet TV (IPTV) services, though we're not quite sure what that will mean.
